Planning Updates

What is an RMA?
Our first RMA for the multi-functional building was submitted in December 2024 with approval received from Newham Council’s Strategic Development Committee in late March 2025.
We submitted two further RMAs for the data centre buildings in Zone 2 and Zone 3 in March 2025 and subsequently received approval for both applications in July 2025.
Multi-Functional Building
Designed as a community engagement space, the two-storey building will serve to:
- Host small businesses, charities and community groups for functions, training and employment programmes.
- Create new public spaces and landscaping around the building and West Silvertown DLR station, alongside the outdoor gym equipment.
- Feature sustainable designs, with a green roof, photovoltaic panels, and district heating and rainwater capture systems.
View the approved plans, by visiting Newham Council’s planning portal and searching Application No 24/02660/REM.
Zones 2 and 3
Including details of the layout, scale, access, appearance and landscaping of the two buildings, Zones 2 & 3 will provide the following:
- Two high-quality designed data hall buildings
- Important long-term investment in East London’s digital infrastructure economy.
View the approved plans by visiting Newham Council’s planning portal and searching for Application No 25/00541/REM and 25/00542/REM

COMMUNITY UPDATE

TRAINING PROGRAMS
In partnership with the University of East London (UEL), Ada Infrastructure sponsored the AI Infrastructure Talent Development Program (AITDP), an initiative aimed at training and upskilling individuals from various backgrounds to prepare them for careers in data center operations. This program serves as both a workforce pipeline and a social mobility engine, prioritizing individuals such as ex-military personnel, career changers, recent graduates, and, critically, women seeking to enter the data center industry.
Our first AITDP which finished on 7th of March 2025 accepted 37 applicants, with 41% being female, 50% accepted from local community, and others from around London.

Construction update
Following a clearance of the site last year, our lead contractor, McClaren Property have begun pilling works which involve establishing foundations into the ground to support the future buildings. We will continue to keep you updated of operations taking place across the site.

Painting the town…digital!
Local and renowned artist Rosie Woods gave our site hoardings a splash of colour (and coding) with vibrant digital themed art. Follow Rosie on Instagram here to see more and do pop down to see her amazing installation.
I’ve always seen maths and science as poetic art and that has guided my inspiration for this mural
